New springs, wet bolts and alignment..Finally.

After having 4 new springs and a Dexter wet bolt kit with new equalizers laying around for a year or so in the hopes of installing them myself, I finally bit the bullet and had them installed and got a quality alignment done on My Big Country. I brought it to Precision Frame and Alignment in Elk River, MN. They have a great reputation as experienced RV suspension and alignment specialists. They did a great job. The difference in the smoothness of the ride was very noticeable on the trip back to our storage lot. I upgraded to new 3300# springs. Both sides of my rig now sit level and the distance between the wheels is now the same on both sides. Both axles were out of square with the frame and tracking to the left. The camber on both both wheels on the left side was off and the wheels were both tipped in on top instead of at the bottom. The right side camber was off as well but not as bad. Both axles also had slightly less tow in than required. I had thought about installing a Correct Track kit as my trailer didn't come with one. After getting it aligned I can see that would not have been a good investment. As I see it all that a Correct Track would have corrected in my situation would be the tracking which was only one of three factors that were off. I wonder what my alignment specs were when my trailer was new? I wish I would have had it checked then. I plan to have it aligned again next year to see if it changes. Very glad I had this work done....Don
