Now even more confusing is when I was looking at North trail pages, The Big horn trailers were being shown at the same time.

Hello everyone. My name is Damon Miles and I'm the webmaster and creator of the Heartland RV Website. I appreciate the awesome comments you guys have posted here so far. Please keep them coming. It helps me to refine and custom tailor the experience. I'm currently still working out the kinks as it were so I hope you can all be patient with me. With any major project of this scope, there are bound to be a few bugs. I'm working hard to get them all resolved to ensure everyone can have an enriched experience.

As for those asking about the "My Heartland" section of the site, this area is being created as a social media hub for all things related to Heartland. Soon you will be able to view and post images, videos, and join brand specific groups for discussion. This hub will connect to The Owners forum, Heartland Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels as well. Moreover, you will be able to log into one place and get all the Heartland media and content from multiple sources. Heartland related events and show information will be posted here too. Heartland RVs is hoping to create a place where dealers, retail, owners, sales and marketing folks could discuss and share information from one spot. And since the site is responsive, you can access it from just about any device (smartphone, tablet, laptop and PC). So stay tuned. Thanks!

Damon,

I know you have you hands full right now, thanks for all the hard work getting things up and running.
I noticed the site had 46 new members sign up since I did on the 7th. Things are growing.

This morning for the first time I did not get any error or page can't load messages..
I did notice that the galleries of many different models and floorplans are loading slow enough that i can see the underlying code(file numbers of images) while the images are loading..
I did notice in the RW420 gallery there are 2 identical images of the pantry...
I think I have seen this mentioned before, if you click on any gallery photo you are redirected to image 1 not the one you want to view....

Thanks again for all the hard work and time getting the site up and running.

Colorful website with all the graphics but in one word, it is slooooowwwww to load and has its share of error messages when loading. Can't be good for prospective customers.

Damon: Help me understand this new site better..I am not a computer geek, so don't use facebook etc for security reasons. Will all postings on this site show up in facebook and the other sites? If we have the Owners club forum, why would we post also on this new site? Is this site being possibly tested to to take over the Owners forum as it currently exists today? We currently have the ability to converse within the brand names on the owners forum. I am confused about the duplication from our Owners forum site. I am open to change, just not sure I understand the changes.

Edit previous post..........On my I-pad, I cannot navigate the new Heartlandrv website. The pages do not load or get stuck in a loop trying to load. Using my laptop, on the other hand, I am able to load the site and navigate to the pages I wanted to see when attempting to access from my mobile device. In today's electronic/social environment, access from any mobile device is a must. Yes, there are a number of members on this forum and others out there that use PC's to surf the net, but even in my old age, I have moved away from the computer and prefer to utilize mobile devices ie: I-phone and I-pad. Hopefully the webmaster can reach a solution to enhance the performance of Heartland's website soon.

Have not been able to find the "Compare" feature when selecting multiple configurations? Liked that feature in the past

I am an old guy . . . will be 55 in July, 2015 . . .

And no matter what anyone says, a Smartphone or tablet will NOT replace a laptop or desktop anytime soon!

I have an iPod Air, and I use it every day!

But believe me when I tell you that it in no way does it do what my laptop or desktop computers do!

Scroll through the thumbnails, click on a picture, for instance the bedspread on the Landmark (still think it doesn't belong as well as the red velvet seat), the link takes you to the beginning of 80 pictures. So trying to look at a picture in the middle takes forever. And, after scrolling through 3-5 pictures it kicks out back to the thumbnails, where you start all over again.

That was an issue I found frustrating as well.

I am looking for a specific loft configuration and want to click on that image rather than click through a whole bunch more.

Trying to view the list of floor plans after viewing a specific one is clunky/confusing.

Does feel like I can get to the floor plans for a model (i.e. cyclone/rw/edge) more directly.

Hey Doublegranch!

Thats a good question and one that I've been getting often. Why have two places duplicating material?

The answer is that the info isn't necessarily being duplicated, but rather streamed from the forums to the portal. The primary purpose of the "My Heartland" portal is to unify all the social media streams currently available consisting of Heartland related content. Eventually this will be a two way street where post done in the portal will show up in the appropriate social site (twitter, facebook, forums, etc.) and visa versa. The secondary purpose of the portal is access to heartland related media such as hi-res floorplans, interior and exterior shots, videos and so on.

We at Heartland would like to ultimately have a sort of one-stop place for all things Heartland media or social, and a common place for customer feedback, community, and serving our dealers with quality content for their businesses. I hope that clarifies things a bit. :)

Cheers!

Hello 2TrakR,

I found it frustrating as well so I've been rewriting the code. I'm still working on general galleries, (exteriors, and decors). Clicking on an individual image in an interior gallery will open to that specific image now then continue in the order the images are listed. We are trying to streamline the process so it's more intuitive to view and search through our media.

To everyone else, we've recently changed a few things on the site that has allowed us to ramp up the speed a bit so hopefully that will rid those frustrations (*hopefully*). Also to those wondering about why we are going more for a mobile experience verses desktop driven, I'm sure a lot of you still uses PCs, macs and laptops, but just within the past year and a half of analytics, the stats show viewership on mobile devices has almost doubled. To be somewhat transparent on the matter, people viewing the site on mobile devices went from roughly 40% to almost 75% in the time. Thats a pretty big jump but Heartland is doing its' best to create an experience both sides of the fence can enjoy.

Hadn't visited the Heartland website again until today. Using my iPhone I was able to easily and quickly load the home page and navigate around the Bighorn floor plans and photo gallery. Get progress!!!

Still, no comparative table of specification. That is real inconvenient.

In fact, I would also like a comparative table of differences between lines, also.

Access to list prices is also missing.

It's nice and pretty. Has new graphics that are enhanced. Yet, it is far less informative and more difficult to navigate.

How are you Bohemian?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still in the process of putting in the new compare function and it will be online in the next week or so. As for pricing though, since we are a manufacture website, we don't post pricing online. You would have to go to a dealer for that. We do however have a inventory listings option on the dealer locator. It's not available with all Heartland dealers but a good number have it when doing a lookup and that does show pricing. Also, coming back is the Tow Rating Guide and some additional features coming down the pipe soon. So keep looking out for it.

Hi Damon. I'm doing just fine. I hope you are doing well also.

Well, you did have a configurator and it did have full retail list prices in the previous version of the website.

We all know that you need to serve your dealerships needs, but full retail list prices are something you should publish. Not having those opens up the opportunity for bad behavior on some peoples parts.

That old tow rating guide was useless . . . not to mention that it was three years behind.

Hopefully a new and improved tow rating guide?

For those that are logging in to Heartlands new site and setting up a profile, I found the profile page that it defaulted to was the dealers profile. I could not set it up since I'm not a dealer. I saw a link to change the setting and selected default there and it removed the request for dealer info and I could set up my profile. Since we were looking at the Bighorns, the things I primarily noticed are in that category. I have noticed that not all of the exterior colors that are available are shown. The white side, brown front is not there and my favorite the full body paint sterling is not shown.

That said, all in all the site looks good and is moving along nicely.

I am wondering though, if the list of standards and options would be better if shown for each RV model. Example; the 3750FL can not have a outdoor entertainment center ( at least when we ordered ours it couldn't be added ) but the fireplace was required. These are still shown as options on the 'general spec sheet'. I do know I am not talking in the near future, there are probably more important things to get done first. I am wondering if it something that is planned. When shopping for a RV this was something that made it confusing and frustrating when we saw something that we wanted, then couldn't have or something we really don't want and forced to pay extra to get it even though we didn't want it. Like the fireplace, would have rather had storage. I'm asking since I don't think that I am the ONLY person frustrated by this that is (was, we ordered one) shopping for RV's.
