RV Show - Novi MI

Went to the RV Show in Novi today - there were two Big Horns there through National RV in Belleville, MI. (As was stated in this forum, General RV no longer carries Heartland products - usually there are quite a bit more Heartland coaches on display).

We were happy to at least find these two. All the new "stuff" looks great. We noted the following (most of this was announced on Facebook) - new exterior graphics and front cap, new furniture (Heartland Rep indicated it's from C-Tec - Broyhill owns this per the Heartland Rep?), new plank ceiling, flush windows, and new carpeting (not a shag any longer). The plank ceiling was nice - beige. There was a 3010RE and the ceiling was really done up in it - had beams that framed the planks.

I liked the graphics better in person than in pics. I thought the front cap was charcoal based on the pics but it is brown.

They demostrated the new fold out sofa for us - looked good - very easy to fold open. The depth of the sleeping area did not appear to be a full queen size and wonder how you would feel the seams. There didn't appear to be any storage like the air mattress sofa had. We didn't have a measuring tape handy but the sofa looked like it would fit in our BC - there was quite a bit of space between the slide and the sofa's arm.

One of the models was the front bath model - very nice - similar to ours in the rear but a front bath in the front with a half bath off the door. Front bath was nice. Looked like you could only have a queen bed.

We like the way the flush windows look on the outside but we don't like the way they have a restricted opening. We like to open up our windows.

We looked at SOBs as well. The one thing we wish HL had not quit doing is gel coat. Our 2010 BH had gel coat and we loved it. We looked at two SOBs and they both had gel coat. HL lost a sale due to this while we were there - we were in the SOB when it occurred. The two SOBs also had the whisper quiet AC system like the LM.

Also, one of the SOBs had a bath layout identical to the common one (Mega bath) used for side aisle coaches in the BH, BC, and LM but it had a sliding door so it must be able to be designed such - just so much better. The BH's appeared to have the most traffic - couldn't even get in them but when we did get in to the 3010RE everyone was having a prob walking through the side aisle with the bathroom door that opened out. It caused difficulty getting into the coach and it resulted in quite a bit of conversation.

The two SOBs had the Level Up controls in the UDC area - HL's placement is much better.
