We've got a 2013 Bighorn 3585 RL Bruought trailer home today to prep for firs trip this year. Went to leave and jacks won't go up or down. Repair tech says check circuit breaker near pump. Do you see a circuit breaker in this picture?
We have a 3585RL 39'+. Vehicle is F350 with Reese hitch in shorter truck bed - so can't turn as tightly as others. Want to bring it home but exit would require using the circle at the end of the cul-de-sac.
Assuming no vehicles parked in the cul-de-sac does anyone know the diameter the circle...
What happens if you forget to turn the Anderson valve from Sanitize/Winterize to Normal and start using city water from hose?
We have a 2013 Bighorn 3585RL. Only used trailer once this year and I forgot to change the Anderson valve position. I ran water through the lines to remove antifreeze...
We own a 2013 Bighorn 3585RL. The LR slide out is large with a double storage closet just before the BR door. We noticed that the cabinet is separating from the wall (see picture). The bottom of the cabinet is pulled out about one inch while the top is still flush to the wall. This seems to...
We've had this unit for 3 years. In the past year there has been condensation on the plastic panel between the door (dripping on to the wood below) and the left freezer gets to 0 degrees while the right only 20 degrees. Refrigerator section cools OK.
I checked all the doors using the dollar...
We live in Naperville and our current storage yard in Bolingbrook is eliminating outdoor storage next spring. It's a bummer since it's only three miles from home.
I've done the Google search looking as far west as Rochelle and as far south as Joliet. I thought about renting a space at a...
Our trailer was broken into and I need to replace the door. It seems like it would be easy (three hinges and I believe three bolts per hinge).
I'll want a new lock too, since although it still works it was damaged.
I will call Heartland tomorrow to order the door. Potential issues - do the...
Out 2 year old WVOS511 Voyager, which I use all the time while driving, has moisture inside the waterproof camera (LOL). I'm going to call ASA Electronics tomorrow but wonder if anyone else has had this experience and the out-of-warranty resolution. Thanks!
Our first post-retirement trip is a bust. Made it from northern IL to Louisville KY, then Nashville TN. On way to Asheville NC, had to hard downshift up a hill to pass a truck doing 30mph. Soon after the engine started to knock and the low oil pressure warning appeared. I've read about this...
SOLVED: Water pump stopped intake of anti-freeze
Winterizing a couple days ago. Anderson switch on winterize, HWH bypassed. Got the washing machine, bathroom and kitchen sink done then went outside to the shower (forgot the toilet...). The pump makes noise but no longer sucks up the...
When we got our insurance from National Interstate we paid $9.00 extra for "awning" coverage.
Recently when pulling into a campsite a tree jumped out and took a nibble on one of our slide-out toppers. A number of pinholes along the topper and some of the plastic components on one end were...
We are looking to purchase a counter-top convection over (for use at home and the trailer). Breville seems to make a good unit by 1800 watts requires a 20-amp circuit and they don't recommend it for RV use. I believe Bighorn limits us to 15-amp service at the outlets. Any recommendations on...
NI quoted $780, Progressive $960, and Foremost $1,037 all for full replacement coverage. State Farm, using ACV, quoting $400. GMAC much more expensive if you can get an Illinois quote from them.
I'm told Illinois has had the largest annual insurance rate increases of any state. Figures....:(...
When putting on tire covers noticed that the axle equalizer have grease fittings. Nothing in any manual I was provided mentions lubing this component. How often does this need lubrication? Regular auto grease? One shot from lube gun? Click on photo to enlarge.
Thanks!
I can’t bring our trailer home so have no easy way to wash it except with a handheld water sprayer. While that works, I’m thinking of cutting off the outside shower head and adding a garden hose male adapter. Then I could attach a 50 foot ½” garden hose to wash the trailer when it's in the...
Another owner told me he bought a couple of used car scissor jacks and puts them under the suspension equalizer - raises the jacks enough to apply some pressure on the equalizers and reduce the bounce insider the trailer.
Anyone every hear of this? Does it work? Is it safe?
Thanks!
We have a stackable washer/dryer in the 3585 and don't have access to the water line connections behind the washer. I regularly check all the other water lines and sometimes find one a little lose. I'm a bit concerned that we'll turn on the washer one day and have a flood in the bedroom.
The...
I know it gets hot inside my trailer when it's in the storage yard. I've read it could get up to 130F and create problems with the wallpaper.
So I've made and installed the aluminum insulation between all of the windows and the blinds. I also keep a couple of jars of DampRid crystals in place...
I didn't get a manual for the axle with our 3585, but the dealer recommended repacking the wheel bearings at 500 miles and then annually. Does anyone know the recommended frequency? Thanks!
All-in-all a very pleasant experience. The PDI was complete and all we found was one slide-out seal that was loose and an extraneous piece of cardboard behind the fireplace glass. Even ran the washer/dryer.
Camped 20 miles from the dealer for three days and the only problem was we weren't...
After two years of research we made the leap this month. 2012 Ford F-350 diesel ordered last week and 2013 BH3185RL ordered today. We're looking forward to our first trip in the new rigs mid-June. After tenting for years, then a pop-up for 15 years, we moved up to a Jayco 242 travel trailer...
New F-350 4x4 is 4" higher then 4x2. Anything special that needs to be done besides adjusting pin box and hitch to ensure the right amount of clearance and that the fiver remains level while towing? I've read that another manufacturers offers to "raise the axles" to accommodate the 4x4 height...
After years camping in tents, then a pop-up camper, and then in a travel trailer we're getting close to retirement and intend to move up to a fiver.
The DW finally found a floor plan she loves in the 3585 and I'm really pleased with the reputation, features and build quality (we took a factory...
