    self adjusting brakes

I've never been thrilled with my rv's brakes. So, I took advantage of Dexter's self adjusting brake special at the Gillette Rally. Spent the last two days installing same. (too hot in the afternoon) Found one unattached wire. No wonder my TBC kept going off and telling me I had a trailer wiring...

    Broken spring

Getting prepped up for the Gillette Rally, greasing wet bolts, adjusting brakes, etc. Whoops, broken leaf on front doorside axle spring. I,ll call Lippert in the AM and order a new spring for about 60 bucks. Hope I can find time to put it on. Noticed in the yellow pages a little co. in a nearby...

    Trailer Brake Controller Alarm

As a snowbird going from AZ to MI, my info screen beeped on my 2008 Ford F-250 about Colorado Springs, CO. It read WIRING FAULT ON TRAILER. Pulled over and checked and found the 12 volt plug to my 12 volt 120 volt freezer was loose. Who would have thought the TBC brain could detect a 12 volt...

Got a tip the other day. When baking in the oven, ALWAYS turn on the outside vent fan. (it helps move the air around in the oven).

    New axle

I talked with a couple of alignment people and they indicated with the thin wall tube in oem axles they usually had to replace instead of bending back into shape. Since a new axle is only 125 bucks and an alignment is about 200 plus buying a new axle I ordered a new axle. Came in this afternoon...

    what tire?

I want to put new tires on our Sundance. Narrowed it down a bit, What is your opinion? BF Goodrich Commercial TA or Firestone/Bridgestone Transforce HT? Because of the spacing between axles I have to stay at 30.7 in. max diameter.

    "Bug"

True to his word, CEO Brady sent me a "bug". If you remember, Brady said everybody here (the rally) would get a bug. Took the engineers by surprise, I think. I gave my address to one of the engineers and as soon as he found out what was going on he would let me know. Received my Bug in the mail...

    sliding door repair

Forgot to fasten the sliding door with the snap, after a bad piece of road it was hanging by one slider. Took off the upper trim on the bedroom side. The plastic swivel that holds the pin in was broke. Popped the slider pin into the door part and held it in place with a particularly sturdy...

    Rear window awnings

I am thinking about installing a window awning on the rear of our Sundance. It faces S. on the site. We have to keep the night shades drawn for some relief. I miss the view. Anyone else have window awnings?

I would like to unclamp the jack housing and raise them about 1.5 in. in order to raise the connecting rod between them to clear a freezer I would like to install in the front compartment. Seems doable. What say you?

    Not having a good day

Like most portable fridge/freezers I don't plug into a cigarette lighter receptacle. Yup, I accidently switched + for -. Norcold says a new power supply is $428.00. Ouch! You are supposed to put in an line fuse when you cut off the cig lighter plug.

Lots of rain this week. Staying inside during rainy weekend camping trip in "Paradise" MI water started dripping from the ceiling!! Unscrewed fascia of A/C and found leak. A/C is set on a foam ring and long bolts are run up through an inside frame to a/c and tightened up to make seal. 2 bolts...

    Grandchild needed

I think I need to rent a grandchild to wire my Jensen TV to the DVD/STEREO/ETC. Like a previous poster my output is connected to the putput. There are RWY wires everywhere but, I still can't play the TV through the stereo speakers of the radio. Sure would like to see a schematic of the correct...

    1/2 voltage to plugs

I tripped the circuit breaker (heater and micro on at same time). Reset the breaker, micro came on but wall plug did not! Voltmeter says 60 volts at all the plugs served by that breaker, but 120 from hot to ground. 2010 2900MK. Anybody have a clue? GFCI seems to operate OK.

    shower door

The vinyl wiper on the bottom of our shower door is coming off. Is there a fix for this or do I apply another type on the inside of the door to deflect water? I am sure clearance is close enough that it is being "scissored" off. Thanks, Jim.

    old pin boxes

Since I got a new truck (F-250 V-10), a new hitch (16K Pullrite Super Fifth), I figured "in for a penny, in for a pound" so, I installed a MORRYDE pin box. The old hitch a Reese slider, was gobbled up on Craigs List. Now, what does everyone do with the old pin box?

    Get one of these things.

On my way to our winter site in Green Valley,AZ we spent the night in FT.Stockton,TX. In the morning everything looked good. Got in the truck and the TPMS was beeping and showed just 57lbs in the right rear of our 2900MK. Zipped around the corner to Mckissick's tire service, they immediately...

    Electric Heater

Since our 2900MK doesn't have a fireplace (who would have thunk they are so loved) we went to Wally-World and popped the big bucks for the LASKO ceramic tower heater (with remote?). $45. It sits at the end of the island?, I installed a plug there for the counter extension. It sure is quieter...

We spend the bulk of the winter at an rv park in Green Valley,AZ. We have high speed cable internet. But where does everyone put there computer and printer abd modem and copy machine in a unit like our 2900MK? I am thinking of getting a laptop (instead of our slimline tower) to simplify the...
