    Torque 291 Information and advice

Pull, yes. Stop, maybe. Handle road impacts and pin weight, not a chance. We tow with the setup in the sig, and now that we actually drive with this combination for extended distances, we are looking to upgrade. It was fine for a summer or two, but now that we are actually putting some miles on...

    Brakes...

Well, took a volt meter to the wires on the rear axle, nothin, nada, zip! I have 12V at the front axle. I am venturing a guess that the rear axle is daisy chained from the front one rather than ran back to the front. Are there any known palces to check the wiring outside of checking any...

Yes, however I noticed the amount of drag varies as the wheel turns. I backed off 7 clicks from lock up.

    Brakes...

So I finally crawled underneath and adjusted my brakes (on one side so far). I had to go back and do it again since I had them way too loose so as not to lock up at all, even on gravel. Got it done the second time, tested it and it appears that I got it right this time. My question is this...

    Billings, mt to shelby mt?

Also, if you time leaving great falls at dinner, the best steak we have had here is just north of town off the interstate at a place called cattlemans cut.

    Billings, mt to shelby mt?

We live in great falls, and have made that trip a couple of times. It is boring. Following highway 3 to great falls is a shorter drive, but just as boring? Also, the predominant wind is out of the SW, so you will have a cross wind the whole time. And, if traveling this weekend, we have a...

Towing XLT 277 with Dodge 1500 Ram w/Hemi

I currently tow an XLT 285BH with an F-150 with MaxTow package. This was the ONLY combination that would work on paper with a 1 series truck and a bunkhouse trailer. That said, in real life I tend to be over the RAWR by ~400 when ever we use it, I am under on all other ratings. That ~400 over...

    Ford 6.7...thoughts and experiences

I was so ready to pull the trigger on a DRW, but I just cant bring myself to do it until this fuel pump mess settles down. I am not willing to take a $10K+ gamble on a $50K+ truck, even if i think my insurance will cover it (then premiums go up). I WANT ONE SO BAD!!!!

Weight question -NO WEIGHT POLICE PLEASE

So I always hear talk of GCVW, RAWR, etc., but no one ever talks about hitch capacity much. I know what the technical answer is, but... I have the opportunity to get the exact truck I want, but it has a B&W turnoverball already installed. I was wanting the new Ford factory solution to get the...

I mounted mine inside the front bumper. It is protected from any rain by virtue of location in regards to the hood opening. I didnt want it under the framerails in case we went thru some deeper than expected water.

    DRW or not DRW

So, it is getting to be truck upgrade time. I am eyeballing a new F350 DRW as I would like to move up into a TH from our current Sundance. I know the haulers I am looking at suggest going with the DRW, but I am hesitant to pull the trigger on this combo because of the extra width getting...

    Half ton towing???

I currently pull with an F-150 w. the MaxTow package. When we bought, camping was new to us, so I didn't want to go off the deep end first go around. This combination was the only bunkhouse we could find nearby and 1/4 ton truck to pull it. We are kicking around the idea of an upgrade to both...

    ATF: Bighorn - replacement tv

The cost to replace from heartland would no doubt be more than a trip to wally world or any other big box store of choice to pick up a similar sized TV (especially with holiday sales going on). As for the mounting, they are pretty standardized VESA mounting patterns.

The furnace refuses to light intermittently

We had this same problem earlier this year. It was the thermocouple accessible from the grate side of the furnace. Jumpered past it and we had heat every time. Dealer said they could not duplicate but it definately was the fix while we were out...

Opinions on a Sundance XLT 287Rl

Remember that your utility trailer is roughly a NEGATIVE 100 pounds off your pin weight by the time you figure 10% tongue weight and he shorter distance from axle to bumper than axle to pin.

Opinions on a Sundance XLT 287Rl

We have a 285BH, and while it is true that it does not have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive trailers, it also does not carry the price tag either. We are also able to pull it with a 2010 F-150 and be within 200lbs of all of the weight ratings. Even though many companies say...

So we are finally getting ready to take a trip where we will be staying where there is electric hook ups. Fired up the A/C in the driveway and nothing. Backing with Triple Axle

So... Thinking about what Lee siad, wouldn't letting most pressure out of a set of tires do the same thing? Yes, you would put a strain on the other tires, but it would be a short amount of time and would save the twisting... Then when parked, just air back up.

    Tight turning effects on axles?

I busted a set of shackles on our first trip and it wasn't even that sharp of a turn. I just happened to catch a small rut on the side of the gravel road. And it was a very small rut, but just enough never the less. It was dark out when I heard the pop and when we got backed in and were...
