fresh water tank leaking

when we were coming home from the winter our fresh water starting leaking out of the fifth wheel big horn 3600 rl has anyone had this problem that could help or do we just drop the bottom an try to figure it out? there is only a small amount of water like 5 gallons in the tank. thanks lin

Lin, leaks like those are very difficult to diagnose. It sounds as if a vent hose might be loose or even come off of a fitting. Your fresh water tank is just aft of the axles and you may be able to get into the underbelly by cutting near the tank and only removing as much as needed. Unscrew some of the bolts along the frame near the tank and pull the side edge down so you can find a cross member to cut along. Before going into all the trouble to do this, try filling the tank while parked and determine where the water is coming from. Good Luck!
