The toggle itself is what comes off. The outer frame is screwed to the wall. Under it is the old style smaller switch. With the toggle in the off position, use your thumb to wiggle and pull it off.

I prefer these over the original tiny switches. We purchased some of the large paddle style and added them to the bathroom and bedroom wall switches. Much easier to find in the dark!

I agree but for me the one I put in the WC is in the way of my elbow. I'm always turning in on by accidental bumpage.:eek:

We had one, in the living area, that controls overhead lights in the slide. I found additional ones, just searching the internet. Here is a link to one that comes with the switch also.
