jasson007,

I'm in Erath and we go to Kinder to our Hunting Camp every weekend..

Cool. If you do decide on a heartland the s Texas chapter is having a rally in the fall in Beaumont at the park near ford park and arena. You ought to check it out.

Btw... Don't think about that nasty "H" word. Lol

I can assure you that the THOR acquisition has done nothing but improve our customer service. Rest assured that when you purchase a New Heartland you are getting the best product that Heartland has ever produced, as well as the best that Heartland has ever been in customer service. THOR is a hands off company that allowed us to keep the same business model in all facets of the business, they have allowed us to become more completive with better materials with our massive purchasing power. You can rest assured that even though we are a part of THOR you are seeing the BEST Heartland you have ever seen.

You have my agreement on this one... very happy with our purchase.

I had an 11 F250 when we bought our RW 415. It pulled it but was way overloaded and even as we pulled away from the dealer the very first time my wife turned and said "We need a bigger truck don't we?". I now have a 2012 F350 DRW and it pulls like a dream. It is also my daily driver and as such I've just learned to park further out where there is room. This has the side benefit of giving me more exercise. :)

Mizmary,

We looking into a F350, but the Truck Dealer ship we use said it can pull it with no problems. I just don't want to have a problem when we buy the RV and then have to get a truck we went through that with the Jayco we have now. The RV Dealer said we can pull it and when we picked it up and was on the interstate we couldn't get over 50. We got the camper on the Friday and the Monday I was calling for a GMC 3500. We want to be safe not sorry, and that's why I called Heartland and talked to Mr. Mike, and he told me to come to this site and ask for advice. Thank you and have a Blessed day....

Thank you,
Michelle

travis_g,

Our Truck Dealer has a 2013 Dually coming in this month on the 23 so we will be looking at it. We are not going to be haste to make a move. I want to have all my ducks in a row before we buy. Thanks you and have a Blessed day..

Thank you,
Michelle

I can say that wife and I are very happy with our 3800. Found a couple of things I wish were different but nothing that we cant live with and it so far has been exactly what we wanted, good for just us and with company. As far as the truck, I'm sure you could get away with a 250/2500 (lots of people do) but a DRW is much more stable than a SRW with the heavy trailers. Just my 2 cents.

I hear ya Bayou! One of my biggest fears buying this was that we were going to have to get a new TV. I wasn't trying to be mean or judge. I'm glad you asked. I was worried when we first pulled it and we had severe axle wrap. I thought we had made a mistake and our truck wasn't going to be enough. Turns out our leaf springs were bad (bought the truck used). Once we had those changed it tows like a dream.

The cyclones are wonderful. I hope you end up with one. We have had great experiences with our dealer and their service department. You are right about the room- they have plenty of space to spread out!

Mizmary,

I was just informed that the RV dealer has bad service... I hope the person that told me that is wrong..... Like I told my husband I'm not in a hurry I have other things I have to do before we go get the Cyclone. IE: we have to get a cover for the RV at my house, we also have to fix the one at our camp ground we have to go up four feet on that one, and then we have to get a NEW TRUCK a F350... so I told him we have to have all our ducks in a row before I will go get the RV...When I talked to Mike at Heartland If the Dealer sales the one I looked at they can get me another just like it with no problem so that's good to know, because I want that one.... Have a Blessed Day...

If you are talking about dealer in Carencro I have heard some bad things as well. Some first hand as well. We have spoken to them at various points in purchasing our rig and we always walked away with feeling that they did not know enough about their product. Even gave them a chance to earn my business based on giving me a good deal and they were no where near the ballpark much less in it. If I were y'all I would go east or west of Lafayette to purchase.
