    Service Recommendations in Southeast Michigan

Maxxis M8008 215/75R14 Date code 3111. I will consult with the store I ordered those from as well. I inspect the tires before each trip and maintain 50PSI. This is our third season with them, but we towed about 6000 miles plus about 4500 miles between the prior two years. The tread and steel...

    Service Recommendations in Southeast Michigan

I lost a tire tread yesterday which tore up the slide floor, cables, chain, motor, and I'm not sure what else yet. Depending on cost to repair, I may submit an insurance claim. Thankfully after over 5 years I have not had to visit and RV dealer for service. I used Harold's Frame shop for an...

    Enough Truck??

Not enough truck in at least two areas. Payload: 2152 - 150 pound 5th wheel receiver - 1860 = 142 pounds for you, your wife, anything else in the truck and anything in front of the RV axles. Tow ratings for 2007.5+ GM 6.0L/6-spd/3.73 is more like 9.500-10.5k pounds, depending on cab, bed...

Happy to be joining the group.....

Congrats! We love our 11 28BRS. I pulled it with a 2003 F-150 which it did very well, if not slowly at times. Your Tundra should have not problems, but as mentioned, limit the weight in the bed.

Trailer seems to be too low/scrapes the decline as we leave gas stations

It is not the age/vintage of the NT. The king slide models are higher, have 3 step entries and the shallow slides have 2-steps. 32BUDS = king slide.

    North Trails at Rallies

I stayed at Duck Creek this past weekend. Camped next to a NT 29BUDS who is seasonal there and had a 21FBS prior to that. I also saw a 32BUDS and my wife saw one more I missed.

Trailer seems to be too low/scrapes the decline as we leave gas stations

I got a quote of $350-$475 to flip the axles on my 28BRS. The shop did not recommend it, but would do it. I passed for now, as I may end up replacing my TT in the next 2 years.

Trailer weight, a very pleasant surprise.

If the 5400 pound measurement was with the TT connected to the TV, then you are neglecting tongue weight which is probably on the order of 500-700 pounds on the TV suspension with weight distribution.

    Seeking tow vehicle recommendation

Any of the big 3 3/4+ ton diesels will do well with that TT. If there is a 5er in your future, get a 1-ton SRW for the minimal upgrade cost. You can also check out Ford's HD payload package F-150. 4x4 crew cabs with 2100 pounds of payload, extended cabs with 2400+ pounds. It comes with...

NT 28BRS Cover and the Arizona sun

I am very pleased with my Gold Line cover. I use it all winter, so different purpose than AZ. I bought the 28-30', but recommend the 26-28' for the 28BRS.

ATF: North Trail - Dimple / Indentation on front of travel trailer

My NT has a similar, but not as severe dimple, more on the driver's side than yours. It does not seem to have any other problem.

NT too low - Taller tires?

The shallow slide models get 14" tires, and lower ride height - s step entry vs. 3 for deep slide models. I can appreciate the usefulness of raising the lower trailers like mine. All you need is larger diameter tires that fit on the rims. I don't know the size of the originals, but you can...

    Door shock-absorber

Got one on each door on my NT 28BRS too. Prevent door from hitting awning arms when open. In spite of not being able to open completely, they are nice for the kids who cannot slam them open or shut. Also, provides a slight auto-open feature after opening a few inches.

    Prospective owner

Ahh! I already said ignore tow ratings for RVing, 8000, 10000, or 12000 pounds does not matter for your truck. You stated you have 1380 pounds of payload. Is that what the yellow Tire and Loading sticker on the truck you own has, as I showed above? You are likely to exceed that well under...

Any experience with 31Red and Toyota Tundra?

Re: 31Red Payload is the problem towing 6500-7000 pounds is the Crewmax which has 1200-1400 pounds available. Assuming based on the model that you do not have a large family to take, keep the truck bed empty and you should be fine. Plenty of power with the 5.7L and 4.30 gear. I will warn you...
