EVENT: Heartland Regional Rally: OR, Canyonville - 8/10/2012 to 8/12/2012

We had a great time!! Little Paigey is sold on rally life....good food and lots of people to talk to. Many thanks to the guys at Henderson's for the suspension inspection. Robert uncovered an issue that looked fairly minor but when I got it into Safari in Redding, it turned out to be kind of...

What did you buy the first night?

Take stuff for cooking. You will want to try out your new stove and microwave. Bedding and towels. If they haven't changed the mattress, you will need a memory foam topper but you might want to spend a couple of nights sleeping on it. If you end up crippled, get the topper!! If your dealer...

Waiting game... Next on the list is a hitch. Some suggestions please?

I'm going to chime in here even if I am not an expert!! I have a B&W companion hitch and love it. It is easy to hook up to the trailer and even easier to take the hitch out. Leaves a flat bed without rails. The components are pretty light and goes in and out in under 5 minutes. I have not...

Buying long gun out of state.

I had a problem in Wyoming as a California resident. The gun shop owner said he could sell to me, but he would have to follow all of the California laws....so you can figure out the rest.....no sale. My friend bought a long gun and it took all of a 10 minute phone call, she paid the bill and...

Going it alone against the wind

I travel solo and have a Landmark which I tow with a Chevy 3500 dually. I have used the dually as a daily driver from time to time and I have to admit, that I really like the way it handles and the ride is pretty comfortable. My other car is a Chevy Avalanche and the cab of the dually is...

Going it alone against the wind

Hi!! I RV solo in a Landmark with a Chevy 3500 dually. Your story sounds similar. Everyone in my extended family has 5th wheels and I had to get one too if I wanted to keep up. The first year I followed them around and went out about once a month from April to October. The second year, I...

    Fresh water tank filling up?

Let me preface this with the disclaimer that I am no expert - not by a long shot but....I had a similar problem while traveling the western states last year. My problem was solved by a pressure regulator!!! I had a leaky rig for six weeks and then took it to the shop. They could not get it to...

To Dually or not to dually that is the question

You could park the CRV in the bed of the dually!! I hope you go with the dually. My extended family has 4 fifthwheels. Everyone but one has a dually and he wishes he could change up. Much more stable. I drive mine solo but all of my sisters-in-law have no problem maneuvering their duallys.

Sparks Marina is a beautiful campground. Really well maintained and close to lots of stuff like an outlet mall and Scheels, one of the largest sporting (as in all outdoor sports) goods stores around. I think it is a great choice for our rally. Please add me to the list of attendees!

Fresh Water Tank Filling on it's Own.

I had this same problem this summer. I took a long trip, moving CG's every night. About every 4th day, my freshwater tank would be overflowing. Before I could take it in for repairs, my brother-in-law discovered that the freshwater fill tube was incorrectly installed to the smaller ring at...

    Our Washing Machine Stinks, Literary.

I don't have a washer/dryer in my rig, but I do have a front loader at home. I try to leave the door open after use but sometimes it does get a moldy odor. I use a cup of vinegar in the wash and it removes the odor. It also works when you forget and leave the towels in there overnight. Works...
