    How old is your BigHorn?

2006, purchased second hand in 09. Now made into a permanent home in campground in PA. Had the early weak frame issue so turned lemon into lemonade. We're happy spending weekends in it. Holding up well, now that we're not towing it.

    Tank Valves

I had the same problem. Used some drain valve lube and it actually worked. My unit is on a permanent site so only using the black tank, but the lube really works. I picked it up a RV store, I think most carry it, just add a little with each dump and it worked. I had the issue of the cable...

    Lippert Spring Slipping Back

Totally agree. That's eactly what I did on my BH prior to springs breaking. Haven't looked back. Not all that expensive for piece of mind. I was actually surprised at how bad the original bushing were worn. Purchased springs {6 Left packs} locally. Ordered Wet Bolt kit from MorRide. I have a...

    Tire Diameter

I would be careful. I also have 33" center to center and when trying to install Goodyear G614s I ended up with less than 1"... I didn't feel comfortable, but it's your call. I was lucky because the place mounting mind happened to have four other G614's mounted for another customer that he did a...

    How many Viet Nam vets

US Navy, 62 thru 94. Did 3 back -to- back 10 month West Pac's 64 thru 69. One of my ships was the USS Currituck (AV7) (Sea PlaneTender) where we operated out of Cam Ron Bay (sp) from Jul 66 to May 67, supporting the old P5M Marlin Sea Planes. On board USS Dubuque (LPD7), transporting both...

Looking for pit stop tips, traveling north, Florida to Penna...

Crooked River State Park just across the Georgia line is good. Exit 3 will get you too it. Once you reach Virginia, we usually use Walnut Hills Camp Ground in Stuart Draft (Exit 217) off I81. Don't know of much off I26 or I77. We're always departimg from Jacksonville so normally don't stop...

    oversize trailer tires

Measure the distance from center of front wheel dust cover to center of rear wheel dust cover. If you measure 34 1/2 or greater you're good to go. My early 06 BH has 33" spacing :confused:and when I tried 235 tires it left less than 1" space and I didn't feel comfortable with that so I went with...

    Why not balance trailer tires???

Ditto on the Dyna Beads. After installing new tires on my TV I had a slight shimmy, installed Dyna Beads, smooth as silk. Now have Dyna beads in truck and 5er tires. If not already, just google "Tire Balancing Products" or go to a local Motor Cycle shop, they can order and often will already...

    Crack in the outer wall?

Re: Crack in the outter wall? Wish you well also. In my case I should have done a better job at the PDI. LOL-it seems the older I get the more I forget. I've owner 6 RVs since 84 and would think that I would be tougher at the PDIs. Anyway in this case I should have caught the slide...

    Crack in the outer wall?

Re: Crack in the outter wall? I too really feel for you. My unit is 6 years old. I have a previous post back in 010. Had a crack by door at top of big slide. I'm somewhat sick now as I had the crack fixed in Florida. The folks that fixed it also adjusted the main slide, which they though was...

    Greasy Brakes

What he's referring to is the best and most effective method. Remove bearings and rear seal (best to replace rear seal with new seal), clean bearing using brake cleaner (I use spray cans), followed by washing bearing good with soap and water. Throughly dry bearing. go to the tools section of...
