Lack of dealer support and Heartland's inability/unwillingness to deal with it

All of the parts finally showed up, so I took the BigHorn in today to get the LONG list of warranty work done including fiberglass repair on the shower floor around the drain area. So now I will wait and find out how the work is done. BTW, $125/hr is the posted labor rate at the dealer !!! I...

Lack of dealer support and Heartland's inability/unwillingness to deal with it

I can do it, but I want the dealer to do it. That way if there is a repeat problem, I'm not going to get blamed for not doing it right. Besides, warranty service is included in the price. If I'm going to be doing the warranty work, I want a purchasing discount on the price of the trailer to...

Yes, the servicing dealer is the same dealer from which I purchased the unit.

Lack of dealer support and Heartland's inability/unwillingness to deal with it

The problem with that business model is that eventually you anger enough people that you preclude repeat buyers and the reputation spreads to affect potential new buyers until finally there aren't enough buyers to keep the doors open. The idea that there is an endless supply of buyers no matter...

Lack of dealer support and Heartland's inability/unwillingness to deal with it

Just to be clear, I have not asked Heartland about non-BigHorn dealer support. I only asked about approved BigHorn approved dealers. Just wanted to make sure that everybody understood that Heartland hasn't stiff-armed me. They only indicated that they have no true control and little influence...

Lack of dealer support and Heartland's inability/unwillingness to deal with it

Just off the phone with the contact at the dealership. The current story is that all the items have been ordered and will arrive within the next two weeks and that they will schedule me in for a priority warranty service appointment at that time. Now we will see if this story, unlike the other...

Lack of dealer support and Heartland's inability/unwillingness to deal with it

I'm going to give these guys a chance to redeem themselves. If that fails I will move to other options. They are on a very short leash at this point.

Lack of dealer support and Heartland's inability/unwillingness to deal with it

I appreciate the enouragement and support. I did visit with Heartland about Ron Hoover. They may or may not do it because they are not a BigHorn dealer and are not required by Heartland to (1) do warranty service on a unit they didn't sell, and (2) do warranty service on a line of Heartland they...

How many times has this been asked? Sorry!

Texas and Florida are probably the best. Both have reciprocity in the most states. BUT, there are major differences from state to state. In Texas you can carry a concealed weapon without a CHL in your vehicle if you are travelling but it must be OUT of plain sight. In North Carolina, you are...

    Truck tires?

Yokohama is the best tire for the money, IMO. I have them on my 2005 GMC Duramax and they provide incredible wear at a very reasonable price. Had them on my Yukon, my Tahoe and my Expedition with ZERO issues. GREAT value ... wear, performance, durability and price.

Lack of dealer support and Heartland's inability/unwillingness to deal with it

I bought a 2013 BigHorn 3570RS in the first few days of December, 2012 ... just over 3 months ago. Multiple warranty issues including a bad living room TV (Sony), cracked bottom in the fiberglass shower pan, pocket door for bathroom where the hardware for retaining the door open during travel...

  13. StevieWonder

    Dynamic wheel balancing ...

Dynamic full-time balancing is different than one-time dynamic balancing which WILL change over time with normal wear. Dynabeads are small glass-like beads that are inserted in the tire and use centripital force to distribute the beads within the tire during rotation. That means that as tire...

    Fuel $

Diesel prices are disproportionate to gasoline because of foreign demand for diesel in India, China and a host of other countries where diesel is widely used to power local electrical generation. Jet fuel, which is from the same basic part of the refinery run, is running $3.00/gal for airlines...

    OK ... where's the switch for ....

It's a natural step of logic to understand that complex systems mean that you need more thorough documentation. And this is not my first rodeo, although it is only my second Heartland unit. I shopped lots of other units by lots of other manufacturers. As with most shopping expeditions, you find...

If they factory has them pre-painted for assembly, you would think they could provide some for you or at least sell you some. I'm sure they buy them by the bucket load.

What are you pulling your Bighorn with...

The big rigs I've owned (like the one pictured in my signature) had anti-lock brakes on the trailers. That is a lot more effective braking than a tire lock-up and it won't flat spot your tires. That might be a nice option for Heartland on their bigger, heavier (and more expensive) trailers. Does...

Yes, I got a full pouch of manuals for many of the appliances and a few subsystems on the trailer. Is that what you get when you buy the cheapest car GM or Ford or Chrysler makes? Do you get a pouch of manuals from the transmission mfr, the radiator mfr, the radio mfr, the power window mfr? Of...

I've owned lot of coaches and lots of trailers from small to huge (see the signature picture), and I've always said it's "not the go, but the whoa" that makes these more exciting than they need to be. Pet peeve: inconsiderate/unknowledgable car drivers that cut in ahead of you and shorten...

That is one of the most ludicrous statements I've seen on this forum. What about the next guy and they guy after that and ... Do you believe that with your TV, your car ... almost anything else you buy? There is NO excuse for not having a comprehensive, model-specific manual in every unit...

Yep ... in the "old" days there was a wall switch. The stair lights now are turned on by a remote that has several other functions (slides, awning, etc). Now, I just know that the light can ONLY be turned on/off with the fob. WHEN (not if) the fob dies, you won't be able to operate the light !!!

How do I turn off the "welcome home" light on a 2013 3570RS ??? Just to keep it rolling, sat on one of the 2 folding chairs and it collapses like a cheap suitcase. Pulled all the screws from the piano hinge on the underside of the chair bottom. Another issue. I want to connect a DVD player to the BR TV. But I can't reach the HDMI connection at the back of the TV.
