Hi all. My Norcold 2118 door flapper is cold to the touch, causing condensation and dripping water into the floor in front of the fridge.
I've ohmed the flapper assembly and it seems to have the proper resistance but I'm not sure of the next steps to determine if it is getting 12 volts or how...
Hi all. I'm having new tires mounted in my 2017 Bighorn, and am bringing my own metal valve stems to the tire shop. Having had bad experiences in the past, I'm trying to eliminate the stupid factor. The valve stems fit two size holes, and I only want to give them the parts for the correct size...
Hi everyone. I'm in the market for four of these, and there are no local dealers in Delaware. Does anyone have a source for dealers that ship fresh tires?
I just bought truck tires from Goodyear and they were OLD!
Hi. I just found an area of crumbling slide-out floor material under the kitchen slide of my 2016 Bighorn. I immediately thought it was rot, but after looking around on here for a while I'm not so sure. Leaning toward roller damage.
So, assuming I don't find any water intrusion (it seemed bone...
Hi all. Two years ago I installed a morryde wetbolt kit in my 2016 Bighorn, which is equipped with Correct track. After about 15000 miles of travel on these regularly greased wetbolts, we experienced a failure on the rear doorside wetbolt.
Upon arrival at our destination, after a 300 mile day...
SO, like many people, I have a screw loose!
I am having an issue with the front storage compartment screws on my Bighorn coming loose. These are the screws that hold the fiberglass sheet onto the front of the fifth wheel around the storage compartment door.
Does anyone have a fix other than...
Hi....have been set up for a couple weeks here in SC, and have noticed some popping in the level up. Happens during temperature fluctuations and I never worry about it.
Now for the issue. I was checking around the hydraulic pump and there are two blocking valve s. I assume one is for the slide...
Hello Delaware! We are seriously considering moving from NH to DE and may land in one of the many large communities in or near Millsboro...none of which seem to offer RV storage!
So the question is...where do folks in that area store their RV's. Our Bighorn is 36' and I would love a place that...
First off, I thought the guy that told me this was nuts. He wasn't.
Sat systems, particularly those with small antennas like we use on the road, are supposed to use 3gb barrell connectors wherever two pieces of coax join. These barrel connectors have blue plastic centers. Heartland uses...
So, I had the switch on my maxx air fan 12 v fan go bad, and in seeking a replacement switch, the tech asked what my voltage at the fan was....good question. I am plugged into shore power and got a reading of 13.6 dc volts.
The tech said that that is outside the range for their fans, which are...
I just finished a couple days at the Heartland retail service center in Elkhart, and mentioned to them as a last minute repair that both theater seat heaters had failed.
I was a bit surprised, but they were able to replace just the heater pads in the seats, and both now work great again...
Hooked up and leaving for a trip. Level up system retracted fine, but now will not extend from either switch. Unit still has power , and will try to raise legs if I hit retract. Nothing in extend.
I have tried plugging back into shore power, but still nothing. I have disc8nnected and...
Hi all. Looking at trying to balance the load on my 3270rs. Does anyone know where the fresh water tank is in relation to the axles. I am wondering if filling the tank before traveling the tank can be used to take weight off of the pin?
Hi all. I am still guilty of never weighing my Bighorn 3270. (yea...I know) ;)
I have always towed with a SRW diesel and have been fine for many tens of thousands of miles but have a new F350 Supercab, long bed Powerstroke and want to stay within GVW for the truck. Guess it is a new obsession...
The truck; 2017 FORD SUPERDUTY SCLB Powerstroke, the configuration of which I selected based on published max. payload capabilities.
The published capacity for payload for the 164" bed f350 4x4 SRW is 4710 lbs
Yellow GVWR tire and weight sticker; payload capacity 3546
So, I know about the...
Time for some minor caulking in my 2016 Bighorn.
What tan colored caulking seems to be the best? I was looking at sikaflex uv, but it is not available in tan.
Thoughts?
These has about 8000 miles on them. Notice the elongation caused by a lack of grease and too little steel. I suspect that I would have had a failure on my next trip... which will be about 8000 miles. If you tow any distances, an upgrade is a good idea.

Finished a wet bolt, x-factor, new shock and bearing service on my Bighorn which touts Correct Track by Lippert. The only evidence of this system is the yellow tabs on the spring hangers.
There is no ability to make adjustments as there is only one hole in the hanger and nowhere to adjust...
A forum member recommended this kit a while back, and since I had never heard of it I have done some looking around and thought it a worthy upgrade while I'm already doing the bearings and adding a wet bolt kit and new shocks.
My question to those that know...do I really need to add three of these?
Anyone in the NH area looking for a good used hitch please send me a pm. The hitch has the special add-on base for Chevrolet 3500 in addition to the regular companion base. New truck and went 25k hitch for Ford puck system.
Hi all. Is anyone using this hitch?
I just bought a new F350 Powerstroke and have a BW companion that isn't going to work with the puck system without a new base...which costs about the same as this hitch at etrailer...which comes with a ten-year warranty and has a 7000 lb. higher rating than...
The 2017 F-350 Lariat diesel 4x4 that I am looking at has 20" tires and wheels...and I am wondering how level you are able to tow with the increase in height. I will be towing a bighorn with a morryde pinbox.
I will probable be buying a new hitch to use the puck system, likely a B&W, so any...
Just started looking for my wet bolt kit for 2016 Bighorn....7000 lb axles, EZ flex and correct track. I find the part number to be Morryde UO12-031....but everyone here is saying something else.....anyone know for sure?????
Heartland is scheduling our Bighorn into the Elkhart service center for repair on an ongoing issue. For those that have been there, do they have a spot to hookup and stay onsite and is this the best option?
Hoping for just one day there but if not, will our unit be available for us to stay in...
Okay, I have kind of had it with my Dometic Blizzard ac units leaking into my 2016 Bighorn and I need some good advice. They have been through the recall for drain holes, and have also been tightened for rain leaks. Heavy rain last night and another small leak down through the intake vent.
I...
Just need to check before upgrading my 2016 bighorn 7000 lb. axle suspension shackles to wet bolts.....can I use the standard Morryde wet bolt kit on my Dexter axles that have the Lippert correct track system installed?
Is there anything special about the install?
Thanks...
I have the Norcold Polarmax in my 2016 Bighorn. Today, in humid weather after a heavy downpour, the fridge started beeping with the dreaded li op code.
I had this code once when the rig was new, and found insulation blocking the vent. Cleared the vent, cleared the switch with a magnet and all...
Hi all. We were just commenting about how nicely our Dual Blizzard ac units were cooling...70 interior temps at 92, full sun and humid outside. So, of course, the rear unit froze up overnight. Unit was set to 64 and exterior temp ended at about 72 and very humid.
I had the unit set to auto...
I have used this tee valve on my past two fifth wheels without issue, but for some reason, gas will not flow through the green knurled connection to the coach. No issues with gas to grill, or with gas flow to the coach when the tee is removed.
Have there been changes to the length of the green...
Thinking we would like to add a strip of exterior led lights to the living side frame, and thinking that the easiest point to grab 12v is at the step light.
Has anyone used this power point, how did you do it and how can I determine the number of lights that can safely be added to this 12-volt...
Hi all. I am presently in FL and running my Norcold 2118 on a setting of 9. Seems to be cooling fine, but it is only in the 80's during the day and 10 is the highest setting. All inner seals are good and the unit functions well...but throws a lot of heat out of the back.
It seems like Heartland...
Hi. I have two slide seals that require replacement on my 2016 Bighorn...both under warranty but wondering if it is just easier to do it myself as we are traveling and scheduling a repair is a pain.
One is the bulb seal on the kitchen slide and the other is the side sweep seal on the bedroom...
Hi...so I am a bit confused by the thermostats and how they function relative to heat from the furnace or heat pump. The living room AC has a heat pump, and the front does not. When I set the living room to furnace, both the heat pump and furnace will run to get to temp, and then just the heat...
We are working on a plan to spend a month in CO. next year...Sept 3 to Oct. 8th.
We are planning on using each of our stops as base camps to explore the area and explore the areas we would rather not tow through. We will be coming in from the great lakes area on 76 and then 34 to Estes...
Not our first rv, but our first time winterizing the Bighorn. Two questions...
1. How can I tell if my fresh water tank is drained. All of my previous units had fresh water drains and low point drains.
2. When winterizing, is there a way to adapt the sprayer wand hose to add antifreeze through...
I have long suspected an issue with the ota antenna, and an finally getting around to it... And confirm no signal at either living room or bedroom tv. The red light is on and the back of the booster looks like the attached photo, which seems to agree with the diagram found in the HUG. I...
Starting to put together a fall 2017 trip to Colorado from NH. Planning about 3 weeks in Colorado itself after a time in the Great lakes area. So far we figure stop #1 will be Estes Park....we will be coming in on I-80.
After that we could use some recommendations on what not to miss and...
So my new Bighorn has probably 4000 miles on it, and I am planning to upgrade the shocks to Bilsteins because I know the quality of oem shocks is pretty low. I'm not in a hurry, but am curious as to the life expectancy of the oem shocks...or have I already exceeded it  This is the...
