    Marathon Fl CG campground

For those eligible and heading to the keys in Dec. As of this morning there is a 1 week spot open beginning 2 Dec. at the Marathon CG campground (our plans had to change due to family problems). These spots are hard to come by, especially at this late date so thought would post it.

    Another tire temp question

Hoping for some new ideas here. The tread temp on the rear off door side is running 10-12 degrees higher than the other 3. Hub temps are 2-3 degrees apart, side wall 4-5 but big difference in tread temp. Have had the trailer on the alignment machine twice. Bearings are good and no slop...

12 volt wiring to kitchen slide on Bighorn 3670

Last week we blew a tire that took out all the lines running into the kitchen slide. So far I have been able to sort out the propane and 120 V lines but haven't been able to figure out the 12V. I have a Blue and White wire with 12V at the box on the frame but any connecting wires to the slide...

    Need a little help please

Had a fairly devestating blow out today, took out all electrical and propane to kitchen slide. Not real sure yet what caused the tire to fail but am concerned it could be an alignment problem. Bottom line is I haven't been able to find anyone in the Little Rock or Shreveport areas who does...

Kudos to Tredit Tire & Wheel

Tredit Tire & Wheel has again raised the bar. In 2011 while on our way to the Goshen rally we suffered a failure of one of the aluminum wheels. Since we were in the vicinity I took the wheel over to Tredit Tire & Wheel and it was replaced under warranty. No big deal you say, except we are...

    Most traveled?

Passed a Sundance today just north of Wellington New Zeland, think maybe they should be in line for most traveled award or something of that nature.

    winterizing

In case any had wondered I discovered today that it takes a lot more of the pink stuff if you forget to turn off the low point drains before starting the pump!

    Hitch Hikers

Only been stopped for a couple weeks and not sure if these guys fully understand what they have signed up for but guess it is an indication of how much exercise we've been getting lately!

Back in La Paz for the winter

For anyone considering the trip now is the time to be traveling down the Baja. After all the rains and hurricane Paul the desert is as green as it has ever been with lots of flowers in bloom. There is only 1 RV park left in La Paz (the ground has become too expensive to grow RV's on) and we can...

Good News - Bad News (weather)

Well the good news is we have arrived at the Lava Beds National Park in northern California which means we are about 2/3 of the way from La Paz to our most northern point just north of Vancouver Ca. We are in a nice little RV park, very accomodating and quiet with easy access to the park itself...

    Shattered dual pane window?

Went to open the sliding window in the DS slide this afternoon and discovered the inner payne was shattered, looks kinda like the old saftey glass windows in cars that would shatter in the heat. Will call CS Monday but wondered if anybody else has had to deal with this and how they made the repair.

A few mods to our 3670

Thought I would post a few pictures of the mods we have accomplished so far. Left out a few things like springs and wet bolts cause they just don’t seem to add much to the pictures. Needed a place for an 8 foot ladder. Still have plans for the other side, but that will have to wait till next...

Back in La Paz, Mx for the winter

Well after a really fun summer including the rally in Elhart, Jeff Dunham in Canton, a visit to Branson, the balloon festival in Albuquerque and over 15K miles on the truck we are back in La Paz for the winter. For anyone getting this far or looking for info on the Baja we're easy to find...

    Dust cap question

I need to change out the original plastic caps on the wheels as they are cracking and basically self destructing. I ordered replacement metal caps from Lippert but when I went to change them out I found the metal caps to be over 1/4 inch larger in diameter than the plastic. Lippert maintains...

Frame flex problem with happy ending

Would like to give thanks to Heartland and especially the customer service and repair center for all their help in repairing our trailer. While nobody wants to have a problem like this it was very gratifying to have Heartland step up to the repair in such a professional manner. Although is was...

Back in La Paz for the winter

Have escaped from the frozen north once again, temps here in the mid 80's and fishing/swimming are great. Ring side seat for the Baja 1000 running by the campground this weekend. The coffee pot is always on.

Kudos to the Fan-Tastic Vent Folks

Last week the Fan-Tasic fan in or new to us 2008 Big Horn decided it was old enough to retire. I called The folks at Fan-Tastic and discussed the problem. After deciding it was the thermostat I tried to order a new one. They told me nope couldn't do that cause it was a warranty issue and they...
