    Nylon Bushings After 45,000 KM

So this is what most of my bushings looked like after 45,000 KM. Some rough roads too including the Dempster. I actually think they did reasonably well considering it’s a piece of nylon. I have the wet bolts all installed now with bronze bushings. We will see how they perform compared to the nylon.

Suspension Bushings, Centre Point, Wet Bolts - What To Use?

I have 45,000 KM on my trailer and I am going to replace the suspension bushings. What do you all recommend? The factory bushings lasted this long do I just go with them again or do I go wet bolts (do they break as often as I am reading), Never Fail? Anyone use Center Point air bags? Im not...

Enough Room To Raise Pinbox? Pics

Do I have enough room to adjust my pinbox up (lower the nose)? The dealer said it was too hard to move it up any more so they left it but we are still very nose high. Does the bolt have to be at the very top hole on the pinbox or can I raise the pinbox and use a lower hole (second hole down)?

    2 or 4 batteries

I am getting a couple 220 amp 6volt batteries. They have 4 in stock. Is it worth it to grab all 4 and run them? I both boondock and camp in full services. When we boom dock I have to run my generator twice a day. I would like to get a couple days. Current batteries are 2 - 80 amp 12 volt...

Inverter Questions - Matrix Infinity Inverters - Running Dual Inverters

Good day folks. Been a while since I have been here. We spent a ton of time on the road last fall. Drove from southern Alberta up through British Columbia, the Yukon and NWT. We went as far as Tuk. Amazing time. But to business. I purchased an Matrix Infinity 2200 watt inverter and I am...

    Curt E16 Capcity

This is probably gonna sound like the dumbest question ever but ... here goes anyway. Os is the Curt E16 (16k capacity) enough capacity for a gross wr of 15,500. I’m only wondering if there is a percentage calculation to give a “safety margin” or if that is built into the hitch specs. I have...

    What Size Circuit Breaker

Wow lots of questions this weekend! What size circuit breaker are you using on your breakaway switches? I have tandem 7000lb Dexter axles with 12" x 2" brakes. According to the etrailer website 4 sets of 12" brakes will take approximately 15 amps. I am thinking the max circuit breaker size...

12 Volt Done - Anyone See Issues?

I just finished my 12 volt wiring. I didn't run the converter through a circuit breaker on the 12 volt positive side. I know it ran backwards through the circuit breaker when it was mounted behind the basement wall but I don't think the circuit breaker really does anything since there are 40...

    Converter Circuit

As I am doing some work on my 12v wiring I was looking at relocating the converter and realized it is plugged into the water heater circuit (shut off the breaker that says "converter" and the converter continues to run - shut off the breaker that says "water heater" and it shuts off). I looked...

    Converter Location

Is there any specific reason the converter is located behind the basement wall? All my other 12v stuff is in the nose of the trailer. Would it be ok to move the converter to the front and plug it directly into the battery pack and run a line to the control panel inside directly from the...

Requesting Pics of Your 12 Volt Setup

Good day folks. Would some of you mind posting pics of your 12v compartments? I am having issues with my hydraulics quitting when pulling in the slides or pulling up the legs. I have checked the batteries and they hold 12.5v under load, the specific gravity is correct and the water level is...

Axle Alignment - Pics - Requesting Opinions

I realize this is too much positive camber but what would cause it? I weigh the trailer frequently and we have always been well under the gross weight. It is the outside tread that is being affected. The front tire has almost all of the outside tread wore off while the rear tire still has...

Putting Camlock Fittings On Regular Sewer Hose?

Can you just clamp regular sewer hose onto a 3" camlock fitting? I see lots of bayonet hardware that just clamps to the hose so I am suspecting it should be alright? Comments. Thanks

Bedroom Mount - Only One Screw Holding Mount On Wall

We are getting the trailer ready for 2017 and when I was installing the TV's I noticed the top screw on the bedroom wall mount was loose. I went to tighten it and it is only in the wall panel (there is nothing behind it). QC needs a bit more tweaking on the Oakmont? I am going to put a piece...

    Oakmont - Cracked Rim

Our Oakmont is just out of warranty and between a week ago and today one of the tires went flat. Took it in to get fixed and the rim is cracked. He said it could be anything from manufacturers defect, to overloading to hitting a really bad bump. I haven't come close to the gross vehicle...

    Oakmont Warranty - Service Charges

My Oakmont is in for some relatively minor warranty work prior to the warranty expiry. We have been extremely happy with how we have been treated at this dealership. However, today they tell me that I have to pay a "diagnostic" fee because THEY can't find the issues. I know what it is like...

Drain Valves Open Or Closed Over Winter

I have winterized my Oakmont with the plumbing antifreeze. I pumped it through to all sinks, taps, toilet, shower and the washer prep. Filled all the p-traps (except the washer drain as it is never used). I also made sure the fresh water inlet and black tank flush had some antifreeze in them...

Pullrite Superglide - My Oakmont Pin Not Tight?

I have an 18K Superglide and I have noticed that the pin on my Oakmont slides back and forth in the hitch about a 1/4". Enough that it clunks when braking and when accelerating. It is definitely the pin sliding back and forth within the capture jaw. Anyone else have this issue? Pullrite...

Residential Not Freezing Down Like Our House Fridge

The maiden voyage is going well in the beautiful rockies. One thing we noticed is our residential doesn't freeze down that hard. We plugged it in at home the night before leaving and had it running on battery on the way out. It has run another night now on shore power and the ice cream is...

    Fill Fresh Water Then Travel?

Hello everyone. We are taking the trailer out for a few days starting this weekend. This will be our maiden test voyage. First time with an RV. So my newbie question is this - do we fill the fresh water tank and then travel to our destination? Can we fill it before travel or can that wreck...

New Trailer Come With New Batteries?

We just bought our Oakmont 5th wheel brand new off the lot (2015). When we bought it the salesman said we will need a battery. So we bought a battery and they installed it. Now I am reading through all the work orders and one of the work orders says: "Remove 2 batteries from trailer and...

XStream Generators - Anyone heard of them - use them?

We just bought an Oakmont 345RS and we are now looking at power options for boondocking, charging batteries etc. I have shopped around and a $7000 Onan just isn't in the budget at the moment. Yesterday I saw an "XStream" brand generator at a local store. It is 6800w peak, 5800w constant and...
