    Heating configuration

2020 Road Warrior 430 It appears I have one gasoline fill and there appears to be ONE 30G tank........Most toy haulers I've seen have 2 tanks...... Three roof top AC units. Aside from cooling the bedroom thermostat also offers "HEAT" with "FURNACE" displayed. It in fact controls the furnace...

    Bringing it home.....

Picked up our new (to us) 2020 430 today, in the snow. Third time I've done that in the last 10 years for some reason. Guess I like buying in the slow season. I Must say the RAM and the RW ride much better than the Cyclone and Chevy 3500 I had in 2011. Now sitting in the driveway getting deep...

    I'm baaaack!

Just jumped into a 2020 RW 430, picking up next week. It's never really been loved much but hasn't been abused. Some cleaning and a new awning and it'll be good as new. Not new to these pages. Sold our Cyclone about 5 years ago. In between had a diesel pusher. So I'm back. I'll have a few...

    Keeping the water out.

I’m walking a fine line here. I want to share what I’ve learned and save many of you from heartache and MAJOR financial loss. What I don’t want is to be perceived as a Heartland basher and get my posterior removed from this forum. Let’s just say that HL and I have a major difference of opinion...

    Closet wall separating.

The divider wall between the far right and middle closet in the bedroom has separated. In fact, the shape of the closet/floor has changed to the point that I can't even push it back into it's place anymore. It is bowed as it appears it is now too long. And, very interesting, if you "dance" on...

ATF: Cyclone - Is it that more expensive.......

To put something in right? I had a leak in the big slide side wall. Paneling under the window getting mushy, carpet wet. The first logical step is the window. Removed the inside bezel and was able to remove the window with two fingers. The 1/2" foam strip must have been laid by a drunk sailor...

Lubricating the running gear or upgrade to Moryde?

So I attempted to get a grease gun on the grease points of the running gear, but the designers cleverly located them so that was impossible. Yes, I have a flex hose on my grease gun. Has anyone found an elegant solution to this? Of the few that I could get on, some weren't taking any grease...

    Toy Hauler garage AC......

The hard way or the easy way...... Cut a hole in the floor and put in a marine style deck plate (6") free standing AC with the exhaust hose out the floor. It's 74ºF in there, the main AC didn't even notice. Slider closed, kid in there on his top bunk playing his vid stuff. Yup, that works.

    Tires revisited.

Not trying to start (another) Blowmax bashing thread..... :p Yes, I searched this forum but a lot of stuff is out of date. I need 6 new tires. Elsewhere I related my Blowmax experience this March. So, I need (another) new tire anyways, and as we all know the E rated tires are not cutting it on...

    I've joined the Blowmax club.

Although I did almost get to 10K. As we parked on the campground in Mississippi my wife commented that the 4 and 6 tire (Right Center and Right Rear) were awfully close together. I explained about the special Dexter spring linkage and that they are normally close, and sometimes after backing in...

    Exterior care.

Is our exterior in fact fiberglass/gelcoat? Has anyone applied a Poly Glow or similar product and what were the results? Over time? Right now I'm using a regular one step automotive polish and wax, but I'm looking for something more durable.

    Broken garage door spring.

One of them snapped, in the middle, of course. Have to call Heartland, but the unit is over a year old so I expect that it isn't covered. Maybe I can get them to send me a part, but looking at the pivot point, it looks like an interesting piece to take apart.... Anyone ever done it?

    Air Bags.

Chevy 3500 HD, dually, diesel. Cyclone 4100HD. Pin weight about 3600. The load is ok. The truck is not squatting, everything is level. But we are riding on the "helper springs" and it is a pretty stiff ride. Wondering if air bags would bring me up a little off the helper springs and whether...

Happy Jack Bed Mounting Screws Stripping.

Last trip we came home with the beds caddywampus. One of the rails had come off the wall the top three feet. There were 3 self tapping screws on the floor, and three more were half in, half out to the point where the upper bed wouldn't go up or down on that rail. Today I was able to free the...

    Second Spring Break…..

With our 4100. 3240 miles in three weeks. Ran over a ratchet strap someone "lost" in a campground and had a flat on the trailer. CircleD fixed that for $16, but it was a good thing I have a jack, tools and torque wrench so I could take off the wheel and truck it to them to make that a "non...

    Clanging from landing gear.

About every half hour or so the front left landing gear clangs. Seems to be coming up from the mounting. The piston is not moving. I can make it do it by pushing on the front corner laterally. Like you take a hammer and hit the steel….. Could be temperature related, there's a 40 degree swing...

    Fuel Capacity

Can't find a whole lot on this. On my 4100 I have the single tank with fueling hose setup with the Onan 5500 gasoline genny. It seems this is a 30 gallon tank, can anyone confirm this, or is it an 18? (Preferably with a link to a HL spec location?)

    Pantry too hot.

On the 4100 the cabinets to the left of the fridge get hot in the summer, too hot. My solution so far is to replace the doors with louvered doors to improve air flow when the AC is running. The top one is 10x46, the bottom one 10x22. I have a quote for poplar unfinished doors for $125. I can...
