Winterizing the black tank "flushing" rinse.

I usually use the air compressor to flush out the black tank rinse on our trailer. I forgot to do it this year and wonder if it is necessary to do this as the trip out to the trailer is about 100 kms. Has anybody ever had an issue with not doing anything with this line in the winter.

Circuit breaker off and still get tingling

Thanks for the reply Rick. Yes the main circuit breaker also tripped so both it and the GFCI were tripped. All outlets on the circuit were off and the circuit breaker was off until I attached the wire properly. This is when I got the buzz. (I think I am going to go through every outlet and put...

Circuit breaker off and still get tingling

During the night I heard the circuit breaker close and the night light in bathroom go out. The night light was plugged into the GFCI and had tripped that plugs circuit breaker several times. So this time when the main breaker went off it also cut off power to all the plugs in the kitchen...

    Very disappointed in Heartland!

You probably don't need the shocks anyway. Lots of people have just quit using them because they are at a ridiculous angle and ineffective.

Jacking up a kitchen slide to repair flooring?

I am finally getting around to replacing the lino in the kitchen of our Landmark Augusta. In order to install the "Allure" flooring I was thinking I would jack up the slide to finish off near the outside edge. Has anyone done this, how did you jack the slide up, any problems or...

Where is the kitchen grey tank located on an 09 Augusta

ATF: Landmark - Is my #2 grey tank mounted backwards? I have had a nagging leak at the back of the trailer under the kitchen. It got really bad and the gauge didn't even move!. So I cut the bottom open and promptly got soaked by a rush of water and wet insulation. The water had migrated over...

Where is the kitchen grey tank located on an 09 Augusta

Well if anyone needs to know, today I found out where the #2 (kitchen) grey tank is. It is just behind the axles! What a job to get at it but I did. What happened, the drain pipe had no slope to it and just enough water got trapped in the cross over drain pipe that it froze and caused a...

Where is the kitchen grey tank located on an 09 Augusta

I have an 09 Landmark Augusta that has sprung a seriously big leak in the grey tank (#2) that is located under the kitchen floor. It seems to be right above the axles but I need to confirm this as I want to cut the underbelly and see if I can fix it. I know this is the tank that is leaking...

    TIRES---Freestar(good)----GY 614's(not good yet!!)

I have had brand name tires with what looks slightly raised bulges on the sidewall and was told that is nothing to worry about. Ran them for years and it was never an issue. Not having seen your tires I am not sure that we are talking about the same thing. My bulges were about 5 cm sq and...

    How Necessary is a Weapon?

I totally disagree with your statement. I was a police officer in Alberta for a very long time and as well I have lived in other parts of Canada and traveled a lot. Gun laws in Canada are federal and the same from coast to coast. Alberta is not the wild west as you infer. Gun crime is a...

Tap measurements for 08 Landmark Augusta

I have to replace the kitchen faucet in our 08 Augusta and I need the distance between the holes. Unfortunately the trailer is not close by and I won't be there for a while. I want to buy a new faucet here but want to get the right one. Does anyone know the distance between the taps? Thanks.

    Cabinet door falling apart

Went out to the trailer 3 days ago and found one of the overhead cabinet doors was falling apart. I am wondering what kind of glue people are using to repair this. I have the bar clamps at home to use however I would rather not take the door off so I may use a strap clamp or something like...

    Kitchen Floor

I have previously posted on this problem in my Landmark when it occurred two years ago. However I have not yet repaired it but when I do I plan on using Allure laminate from Home Depot (there house brand). I am also planning on making strips of material for the rollers to move on. So far I am...

Thanks for the pictures and info. Because it is so nice here today it is "Hi-Ho" time. Hopefully I can geta lot done today. Yesterday I was adding foam board insulation to the wall that separates the front storage compartment and the main one. That seems to have worked well. There is always...

    Water Down the front cap

Steve, what do you mean by "vinyl insert". Could you describe the area you are referring to. I have an indication that this is now happening to my unit and I want to correct it right away before any serious damage occurs, if it hasn't already.

    Battery or converter trouble

Lots of thanks to Dan again. I got back out to the trailer and installed new batteries because the old ones were seven years old anyway. It turns out that the problem was that little wee reset button on the relay. Many thanks. I needed new batteries anyway, lol. Just for info purposes I...

    Battery or converter trouble

Thanks for the pictures Dan. The trailer was still plugged into the truck when I lowered the landing gear, I didn't discover the issue until I was completely unhooked. So I will the reset buttons and if no other obvious thing is observed it will be off to the battery store. We winter camp so...

Where's the Quality Control at the Factory

I fully understand the frustration that owners have when QC issues arise. Will adding a Water Filtration System Affect Water Pressure?

    FIXED: Slideout doesn't fully extend

Re: Slideout doesn't fully extend Keep this in the back of your mind as an option. My kitchen slide would not extend all the way and it turned out that the slide awning was wound up too tightly which stopped it from fully extending. There are mechanical adjustments that can be made to extend...

I have an 08 Dodge dually with the 6.7 diesel and 3:73 gears and an automatic trans. I put airbags on it and tow a 09 Landmark. The unit weighs in between 23,000 and 24,000 lbs depending on circumstances and I have never had any problems. Dodge underrates their towing weights, probably...

    Fuel Filter Question

I would suggest you visit the Dodge Cummins Forum and do some searching for very good information. One thing that came up was that fuel filters can start to break down after a long time in service if not changed. That material could cause big problems downstream. I also learned on that forum...

    Tuners

Rick, I read the Dodge Cummins forum all the time and I pay close attention to "tuner talk" because I want to do it soon. The 6.7 seems to work best with the Smarty or H & S tuners and overall I think the Smarty Jr with the ME tune is the most popular for people that want a little performance...

    Pressure Pro or TST system

Is anyone willing to post cost of these systems. I am thinking about getting one but cost is a factor. I may only go with four sensors for the trailer and add more for the dually later. Being a dually there is an advantage over SRW in that you are not likely to blow both tires on the same...

Making tools and safety equipment more accessible?

What I have been thinking of is making a slide out tray to set my toolbox on. When I need something I can pull out the tray and open up the tool box and retrieve what I need easily. By doing this I can see everything in better light and I don't have to wrestle with the heavy weight.
